University of Lincoln Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Statement on Faith and Religion for Students

1.0 Introduction: 

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy values equality and diversity. Whilst we don’t promote any specific religion, or even being religious, we understand and appreciate the importance of faith, spirituality, and personal beliefs. 

This statement is designed to help our community understand the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy activities, practices, and facilities available.  

2.0 Conduct and Activities 

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy expects everyone to show respect for other people, whether they belong to a religious group, have personal faith, or have no faith 

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy team support and engage with the various Students’ Union faith societies providing advice and guidance. They also link to the local community faith groups ensuring all members of the community can easily practise their faith or belief whilst they are part of the University of Lincoln. 

3.0 Provision and Facilities 

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is dedicated to providing reasonable support for religious activities, observance, prayer, and spiritual or pastoral care on campus.  

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is based in Witham House offering a variety of services and events including religious, faith, belief and spirituality services, social events, quiet prayer and contemplation spaces, debate and discussion groups, individual and group support, and pastoral care and advice.  

4.0 The Faith Advisory Board 

The University of Lincoln Multi-Faith Advisory Board is a group that includes representatives from various religious, faith and belief-based organisations and is co-ordinated by the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy. The Board meets twice a year, and its primary purpose is to provide guidance and support to the University on matters relating to faith, spirituality, and interfaith dialogue.
