Table for the Nation

Nina (Lay Hindu Chaplain) and Alicia (Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Administrator) were honoured to be invited to have lunch at the Table for the Nation, currently residing in Lincoln Cathedral. Along with other colleagues, students and members of the community, we had a two hour bring and share lunch on 22 November. The Table has been made from an oak tree that has laid in the ground for 5000 years and is now black in colour from the peat in which it lay. The Table is an amazing 13 metres long. The Table is in Lincoln Cathedral until April and is worth a look at alongside the information boards explaining where the tree trunk was found and how it was designed and made into the Table for the Nation.
