Several members of the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy were invited to the annual Blessing of the Gritters on 26 November at the depot in Ancaster. The gritters had been busy the week before due to the snow that had arrived early so the Blessing had to be postponed for a week. Blessings were issued by Father Stuart Craddock from St Wulfrums in Grantham followed by Rachael Phillips and Ruth Williams from the Lincolnshire Jewish Council, Seiko Garrod, the Sõtõ Zen Buddhist Chaplain and Nina Chapman, the lay Hindu Chaplain. The staff from the depot were part of the ceremony too and were very informative about the gritter lorries, the grit, and the work the gritter drivers do over the winter to help keep the roads clear and us safe.
