Transgender Day of Remembrance

This week is Transgender Awareness Week, culminating on Sunday with the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which memorialises the hundreds of people each year whose lives are lost to transphobic violence.

The university’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is organising a free event to mark the occasion, and invites staff, students and the wider public, regardless of belief, to come together in an evening of reflection and remembrance.

The event will begin with refreshments in the Minerva building from 6-7pm this Sunday 20th, followed by religious and non-religious speeches and readings in the Jackson Lecture Theatre (MB0603) from 7-8.30pm. This is an inter-faith event and will feature representatives from a range of belief systems, including secular contributions.

All welcome, no registration necessary. Contact Subash at schellaiah@lincoln.ac.uk for enquiries.
